If I believe I can fly, then let me
What does it matter to you if I fall?
If my heart lies in the sky, forget me.
For then I won’t remember you at all.
Your love is today, but what for ‘morrow
Your promise is now, but what for tonight?
These lies you speak do fill me with sorrow
But up in the stars, my hopes lie so bright.
In sleeping away the cold December
My slumber lies all my worries to rest.
Inside of me, my heart can’t remember
The last time the sun came up from the west
If I believe I can be what I’m not
Forget me for life, and the love I sought.
A sonnet I wrote recently in Writing class.

Please give me feedback, and tell me what you get out of this poem. I don't write very often, but when I do, I want to know what you're getting out of what I write. what do you think is the inspiration? What do you think is the mood? What do you think I'm trying to say?

I would love to hear all of your opinions <3
